From July to October in the small country of New Caledonia the hunting season gets under way in a very special manner, with the main quarry being Javan Rusa Deer originally from Indonesia.
The trophy stags average 32 inches a side with three sweeping tines per antler. The odds are definitely with the hunter when you can expect to see from 100 to 200 deer per day.

Just two hours north of New Zealand, New Caledonia features a truly unique subtropical hunting locale.
We have partnered with Dr. Daniel Marhic and his guiding company of "Trophy Rusa Deer".
For over 15 years Daniel had been successfully guiding hunters to top quality Trophy Rusa stags.
For the last 15 years every Rusa Stag to which they have guided their clients qualifies for the SCI record book,
so not only are there a lot of deer but there are some great trophy quality animals as well.
Daniel is also a SCI Master Measurer and will certify all of the trophies free of charge.
The bungalow style accommodations are located in the hunting area and have modern amenities such as running water and toilet facilities.
The destination is well worth exploring after the hunt.
You will find world-class scuba diving and snorkeling as well as some of the most beautiful resorts in the Pacific just a short drive from the hunting area.
