Te Awaiti, Wairarapa

Te Awaiti is Chris Jolly's private hunting lodge in the Wairarapa region of the North Island of New Zealand.

It sits on 20,000 acres of Southern Wairarapa coastal hill country, with a wide variety of terrain including native Podocarp forests, open grass pastures, and scrublands.

The lodge is a purpose-built hunting lodge, basic yet comfortable; carpeted, with bunk beds and a warm fire. There's a separate two-bed cabin as well. In total, the camp can accommodate eight.

You get to the lodge either by helicopter (1/2 hour from Wellington) or by 4wd Land Cruiser (2 hours). Internet access & Skype are available from the lodge. The property includes 7 miles of private coastline.
