Te Awaiti is Chris Jolly's private hunting lodge in the Wairarapa region of the North Island of New Zealand.

It sits on 20,000 acres of Southern Wairarapa coastal hill country, with a wide variety of terrain including native Podocarp forests, open grass pastures, and scrublands.

The lodge is a purpose-built hunting lodge, basic yet comfortable; carpeted, with bunk beds and a warm fire.

There's a separate two-bed cabin as well. In total, the camp can accommodate eight.


You get to the lodge either by helicopter (1/2 hour from Wellington) or by 4wd Land Cruiser (2 hours).

Internet access & Skype are available from the lodge.

The property includes 7 miles of private coastline.


The cook will prepare meals from venison, wild pork and wild mutton, and also local crayfish and abalone.
